    Instructions
    For the custard
    1. Mix 3 egg yolks with sugar and cornstarch in the small saucepan.
    2. Add vanilla and whisk everything until smooth.
    3. Pour milk into the saucepan. Set it over low heat.
    4. Cook until custard thickens enough, stirring it constantly.
    5. As soon as the custard is ready, cover it with cling film and leave to cool down.
    For the dough
    1. To make the pastry, sift the flour and baking powder into a large bowl. Grate cold butter on a coarse grater. Mix everything carefully.
    2. Add 2 eggs and sugar. Knead the dough.
    3. Divide it into 2 parts. Wrap one of them in cling film and leave in the freezer for several minutes.
    4. Grease baking pan with butter. Evenly spread the dough over the bottom of the pan and transfer it to the fridge for 20 minutes.
    5. In the meantime, peel apples and cut them into cubes.
    6. Pile the apples into the center of the form. Add cold custard.
    7. Grate frozen dough over your pie and form the edges. Bake the pie for about 45 minutes.
    8. Take it out of the oven and leave it to cool down. Serve it warm or cold with a cup of tea.
